Boston Red Sox Nostalgia The Curse of the Bambino was a superstition cited as a reason for the failure of the Boston Red Sox baseball team to win the World Series in the 86-year period from 1918 until 2004. While some fans took the curse seriously, most used the expression in a tongue-in-cheek manner.[citation needed] The curse was said to have begun after the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth, sometimes called The Bambino, to the New York Yankees in the off-season of 1919-1920. The Red Sox had been one of the most successful professional baseball franchises, winning the first World Series in 1903 and amassing five World Series titles prior to selling Ruth. After the sale, the once-lackluster Yankees became one of the most successful franchises in North American professional sports. Talk of the curse as an ongoing phenomenon ended in 2004, when the Red Sox came back from a 0-3 best-of-seven deficit to beat the Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series and then went on to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals to win the 2004 World Series. The curse had been such a part of Boston culture that when a road sign on the city’s much-used Storrow Drive was vandalized from “Reverse Curve” to “Reverse The Curse”, officials left it in place until after the Red Sox won the Series in a 4-0 sweep. Michael Yastrzemski (pronounced /jəˈstrɛmski/, (born August 22, 1939), nicknamed “Yaz,”[1] is a former American Major League Baseball player. Yastrzemski played his entire 23-year career with the …

Lids.com has a couple that look like something you might be interested in. I have attached the links. One has a white "B" while the other had a red "B". The white "B" has all white exposed stitching, while the red "B" has red and white exposed stitching.
@gfscarface13 really? Because the championship banners look the same to me… and before you start talking about Boston steroid users, lets take a look at the yankees. Clemens, Giambi, Sheffield, A-rod, Pettite, Mike Stanton. And those are just a few from the recent years.. If you tried to take away a championship from a team just because a few players used steroids then you might as well just whipe out mlb history from the previous 20+ years.
Great comercial, almost made me cry. Hail to the Red Sox!!!

actually it was his 2nd game and who knows how well he will do. He has a lot of potential, anyone can see that, but its too early to judge. I think he will have a successful career. But it all depends on his health and who knows if he will he get an injury and pitch bad like Wang this year
they ankees just beat the sox. Yay
SUCK+STEROIDS=THE YANKEES GO SOX!!!
It was John Marzano, a former back up catcher. He apparently had a heart attack, but I think the official cause of death was the fall. He died satuday. here's a link:

Marzano was only 45. Apparently this runs in the family, as his father died young from heart problems.
Too bad. While he wasn't a Varitek or Fisk on the field, everyone seems to have loved this guy.
The red cap was their home cap. It was red with a navy bill and a navy B. The away cap was all navy with a red B.
@Bert9ton Dude, David Ortiz failed his Steroid Test. Both Manny & David were doing Steroids together in boston. Just cause someone is big it doesn’t mean they dont use Steroids LOL. Come on, thats Stupid.
Boston world series are Tainted as much as the 1989 Oakland A’s
Red Sox last legit title is still 1918.
92 Years and counting since the red sox won a LEGIT world series.
@gfscarface13 umm how about A- ROID last year. i guess that means the yankees title was tainted too right??

Amazing!!!!
Gagne is a type B free agent. The Sox will get a sandwich pick between the first and 2nd round as compensation. You can get some good talent this way which is why they offered him arbitration. If they hadn't offered that they would not get the pick.
If only he had the numbers to be a type A free agent, then they would have got the Brewers 1st round pick as well.
